What We Mean When We Say ‘Clean’

Our botanical luxury standard offers truth in beauty.

Chantecaille was founded over 25 years ago to be botanically-forward and pure, with a focus on natural ingredientslong before natural beauty products were a ‘thing’. Today, 'clean beauty’ is all the rage, but this muddy, unregulated term often appears on products that claim to be ‘cleaner’ than they really are. For years, we have printed our full ingredient listings and the percentage of natural ingredients in our products on our cartons, offering our customers transparency into exactly what goes into the formulasand onto their skin.

In a world where everything seems ‘clean’, we wanted to assure our customers that when we say it, it really is as pure and sustainable as possible.

The Chantecaille Clean Seal

Our 'C' seal reflects the integrity inside of our formulas and throughout our process: from sustainable sourcing to impeccable formulations using only the highest-quality, healthy ingredients. Rigorous formula innovation helps keep the luxurious textures and efficacy we're known for at the cutting-edge of our clean goals.

'Clean' at Chantecaille means a 360-degree awareness of responsibility to our customer—and our planet.

Products that bear the ‘C’ seal are free of fragrances, silicones, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, and gluten, as well as being cruelty-free and vegan. Additionally, we are committed to creating new formulas that meet rigorous clean standards that raise the bar for the industry by being:

  • solid and liquid microplastic-free
  • Talc-free
  • PEG-free
  • PFAS-free

On the sustainability and ingredient transparency front, our environmental stewardship partners ensure integrity: FairWild, Responsible Mica Initiative, FSC, PETA and more.

Our pioneering perspective on beauty constantly evolves to pursue the highest possible achievements in innovation and excellence, ensuring every product meets our ‘Beauty With Impact’ ethos.
