What We Mean When We Say ‘Clean’

Our ‘C’ seal represents a new standard of clean: One that strives to deliver the highest performance for your skin and the planet.

Chantecaille was founded over 25 years ago with a focus on natural ingredientslong before natural beauty products were a ‘thing’. Today, 'clean beauty’ is all the rage, but this muddy, unregulated term often appears on products that claim to be ‘cleaner’ than they really are. For years, we have printed our full ingredient listings and the percentage of natural ingredients in our products on our cartons, offering our customers transparency into exactly what goes into the formulasand onto their skin.

In a world where everything seems ‘clean’, we wanted to assure our customers that when we say it, we really mean it. The creation of our own criteria pushes the standard to a new level of quality that maintains our legacy of innovation and commitment to our customer

The Chantecaille Clean Seal

Our 'C' seal reflects the integrity inside of our formulas and throughout our process: from mindful sourcing to impeccable formulations using only the highest-quality ingredients. Rigorous formula innovation helps keep the luxurious textures and efficacy we're known for at the cutting-edge of our clean goals.

'Clean' at Chantecaille means a 360-degree awareness of responsibility to our customer—and our planet.

Products that bear the ‘C’ seal are free of synthetic fragrances, cyclic silicones, microplastics, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, petrolatum, talc, and gluten, as well as being PETA-certified and vegan. Our ‘no’ list includes 235 ingredients we will never use in our formulas.

With a view toward more sustainable practices and ingredient transparency, our environmental stewardship partners ensure integrity: FairWild, Responsible Mica Initiative, FSC, PETA and more.

Our pioneering perspective on beauty is constantly evolving to pursue the highest possible achievements in innovation and excellence, ensuring every product meets our ‘Beauty With Impact’ ethos.
