Rachel Brosnahan's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel premiere beauty look was all about the eyes.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel returns to TV next week for your binge-watching pleasure. The premiere of the second season of the Emmy-award winning series was last night here in NYC, and makeup artist Lisa Aharon created a stunning, smokey eye look on star Rachel Brosnahan with unexpected tones of violet for a dramatic-yet-modern effect.

Prep

  1. The night before, Rachel gently smoothed her skin with Bamboo and Hibiscus Exfoliating Cream.
  2. To awake and revitalize the eyes, Lisa applied 24K gold-infused Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Masks under Rachel’s eyes.
  3. After removing the eye masks, Lisa applied just a few dots of the Nano Gold Energizing Eye Cream to firm and finish the under eyes.
  4. Lisa moisturized Rachel’s skin with soothing gel-cream hybrid Rose de Mai Cream.

Face

  1. Because Rachel has such gorgeous skin, Lisa used lightweight Just Skin foundation, which is also an SPF 15 and primer, in fair Alabaster for a smooth, velvety texture. Where more coverage was needed, Lisa lightly tapped on Le Camouflage Stylo in #1, a fair, neutral shade.
  2. To set and finish the look, Lisa brushed on a light dusting of HD Perfecting Powder in Universal.
  3. Lisa then used Liquid Lumière in sunset pink shade Luster, for a pop of natural, illuminated pink on the cheeks.

Eyes

  1. Lisa began with the brows to perfectly frame the eyes. She used Waterproof Brow Definer in Oak Brown to fill in where needed, then blended and set the brows with the brush.
  2. To create openness and depth, Lisa framed the eye with Lasting Eye Shade in Coriander, a matte café shade, focusing in and below the crease. Next, she layered the lids with pearlescent Shine Eye Shade in Tanzanite, a deep jewel-tone violet.
  3. To keep the eyes bright, Lisa lined the inner corners and water line with Brightening Eye Kajal in Nude.
  4. She then intensified the upper lash line by lining with Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner jet black Raven.
  5. To finish the eyes, she brushed two coats of Faux CIls Longest Lash Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

Lips

  1. To give Rachel’s lips a hydrated base and soft texture, Lisa prepped them with nourishing Lip Potion.
  2. Lisa lined with Lip Keep, a transparent lip liner that redefines the lip line, ensuring long-lasting transfer-proof wear.
  3. Rachel’s lips were filled in entirely using Lip Definer in Nuance giving lips a pinky-beige definition.
  4. To complete Rachel’s pink-nude lip look, Lisa glided on a layer of Baobab Oil-enriched Lip Veil in Honeypot.
