Powered by Pure Botanicals
Our obsession with plants and flowers and their amazing abilities to work in harmony with the body is at the heart of our incredible skincare. We started with the rare Rose de Mai from Grasse, a French rose that possesses unprecedented anti-aging, skin-perfecting benefits. Now we are known for the high-quality, sustainable botanicals from all over the world that supercharge our skincare and nourishing color formulas—like deeply hydrating Wild Pansy from Bulgaria, revitalizing Nasturtium Flower Extract from France, or nourishing organic Baobab Oil from Zimbabwe. We use each ingredient in rich concentrations that yield the most impactful, visible, beautiful results.
Always Innovating
We are constantly raising the bar for scientific innovation in our formulas, always seeking next-level advancements for incredible results. Using sustainable plant stem cells was one of our earliest discoveries: they amplify nature’s most powerful traits and pass this resilience on to the skin, while using little soil and far less water than field sourcing does. From our supercharged serums packed with potent botanicals to our cosmetics, which always boast the latest formations and incredible textures, being on the cutting edge of natural beauty is our signature.
Family Owned & Run
Sylvie Chantecaille launched her groundbreaking beauty company with her daughter Olivia in 1998. Together they pioneered a new landscape of natural beauty, which has become a global brand that the entire Chantecaille family now collaborates on. As creative director, Olivia guides new formula development and brings the company's story to life across PR, the website and social media. Sylvie’s daughter Alex is Vice President of Sales & Promotions and oversees Chantecaille’s retail and customer strategies across the globe. As Director of Media Production her son, Philippe, channels his love for wildlife, art and photography into his work, creating the visuals for ad campaigns, as well as print and digital media. Olivier, Sylvie's husband, is the company’s Chairman.
Wild About Nature
Nature is our passion—it’s where we escape whenever we can—and we are committed to supporting environmental conservation around the world. Since 2006, Chantecaille has launched 30 Philanthropy Collections and donated more than $2 million on behalf of coral reefs, wolves, gorillas, elephants, bees, pangolins and more, with products that fund charities working to protect the world’s most endangered species and spaces. We are proud to give a voice to these urgent environmental needs.
“My great hope is that we will all learn what a gift we’ve been given to be on this planet, and that we will come together to protect it.” —Sylvie Chantecaille
Ethical & Responsible
We make sure that our ingredients and products are cultivated and created in ways that don’t harm animals, people, or the environment. We support our workforce with fair wages and safe conditions and continue to look for earth-friendly alternatives across our product lines and operations.
100% Cruelty Free
We officially do zero testing of raw ingredients or formulas on animals, and never have. And we go one step further, refusing to sell our products in countries that require animal testing. All of our products meet PETA’s “Beauty Without Bunnies” standard.
Sustainable Sourcing
All botanicals used in Chantecaille’s skincare are sustainably derived. Our prolific use of plant stem cells actively saves water, requiring 10 to 30 times less water than traditional methods of sourcing plant ingredients. Our Lip Veil Collection is infused with sustainably sourced FairWild-certified organic Baobab Oil, which is harvested by a fair-trade collective in Africa.
Packaging & Refills
The majority of our packaging is from stock that is FSC-certified or SFI-certified. Much of our skincare is housed in glass, which is more recyclable and sustainable than plastic. Our Palettes, Pebble Compacts, Ma Palette Trio, and the 8-pan Ma Palette are all refillable, with more on the horizon.
Responsible Mining
Chantecaille has joined the Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI), which is committed to establishing a fair, responsible, and sustainable supply chain for mica in the states of Jharkhand and Bihar in India, which will eliminate unacceptable working conditions and eradicate child labor by 2022.
Tree-planting
Planting trees is one of the most effective ways to reduce atmospheric carbon. In 2019, we partnered with The Perfect World Foundation and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to plant 60,000+ trees (and counting) in Kenya.
